Terms of Service

Effective September 8, 2026

Prune finds the recurring charges in your bank account so you can see what you are spending and decide which ones are worth keeping.

The short version

A plain-English summary, for convenience only. It is not part of the Terms of Service and does not change them — the full text below is what applies.

What you pay

$49 per year, after a 14-day free trial. We ask for a card up front so nothing breaks if you decide to stay.

Unless you cancel first, the trial becomes a paid year automatically, and renews every year after that until you cancel.

We tell you before we charge you

We email you before your trial converts, and again at least 30 days before every renewal — with the amount, the date, and a one-click way to cancel.

This is the whole point of Prune. A charge you forgot about is the problem we exist to solve, so we’re not going to quietly rely on you forgetting ours.

Cancelling

Any time, from your account, in a couple of clicks. No phone call, no chat, no offers to win you back. You keep access until the end of the year you’ve paid for.

Refunds

30 days from any charge, including a renewal, for a full refund. No reason needed. You don’t have to email us or cancel first — there’s a button in Settings.

After 30 days we don’t refund or pro-rate the rest of that year, but you can cancel so the next one never happens.

Disputes, arbitration, and your 30-day opt-out

Section 15 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver. Disputes are decided by an individual arbitrator rather than in court, and you give up the right to a jury trial and the right to bring or join a class action.

You can opt out. Email legal@prunemoney.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms and the arbitration agreement won’t apply to you. Nothing else about your account changes.

Either of us can still bring an individual claim in small claims court, or go to court to stop misuse of the Service. And before any arbitration starts, whoever has the complaint has to put it in writing and give the other 30 days to resolve it.

Anonymised price comparisons

When we offer this, Prune may use amounts drawn from members’ transactions to show what people typically pay for the same subscription. Ratings and cancellation experiences you choose to share can feed it too.

Direct identifiers are removed first, your information is combined with other members’, and a minimum group size applies so no figure can be traced back to you. It is never sold and never used for advertising. You can opt out in your account settings.

What Prune is not

It’s information, not financial advice. We’re not your advisor or broker, and decisions about your money stay yours.

We detect recurring charges automatically, which means we sometimes get one wrong — miss one, or flag something that isn’t really a subscription. Treat the numbers as a very good estimate, not a bank statement.

Using it sensibly

Don’t try to break it, don’t connect accounts that aren’t yours, and don’t use it for anything illegal. You need to be 18 or over. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Terms of Service in full

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Faster Sloths, Inc., a Delaware corporation, operating as Prune Money ("Prune", "we", "us") governing your use of our website and application (the "Service"). You accept these Terms when you check the acceptance box and create your account. When you start a paid subscription, you separately and expressly consent to the automatic renewal terms in Section 6. Prune records each acceptance with the date and the version of these Terms you accepted, and keeps the current Terms available to you inside the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service does

Prune helps you find and manage recurring subscriptions, memberships, and fees, see your spending, and decide whether each charge is worth keeping. To do this, with your authorization, we connect your financial accounts through Plaid and analyze your transaction data.

2. Not financial advice

The Service provides informational insights only. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and we are not a financial advisor, broker, or fiduciary. You are responsible for your own financial decisions, including whether to keep or cancel any subscription. Prune does not recommend or endorse any subscription, does not receive commissions or other payments from the providers you track, and does not hold, move, or transmit your money.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract, and you must use the Service only where permitted by law. The Service is currently offered in the United States. You may use the Service only for your own personal use and only where the Service is offered.

4. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

5. Connecting financial accounts (Plaid)

You grant Prune and Plaid the right to access, retrieve, and use your financial account information from the financial institution you select, on a read-only basis, to provide the Service. Prune cannot move money or initiate transactions. Plaid handles your login directly, and Prune never receives or stores your financial institution credentials.

Your information is also handled under Plaid's end user privacy policy, available at https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy.

You can disconnect a financial account at any time, and when you do, Prune instructs Plaid to remove the connection and deletes the related transaction data and the stored access token.

You represent that you are authorized to connect any account you link.

6. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and cancellation

AUTOMATIC RENEWAL. Your subscription begins with a 14-day free trial and then renews each year at $49 until you cancel. Prune charges the payment method you provide. You can cancel at any time in your account, and you can get a full refund within 30 days of any charge.

Plan and trial. The Service is offered as a paid subscription of $49 per year following a 14-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to start the trial.

Trial converts to paid. Unless you cancel before your trial ends, your trial automatically converts to a paid annual subscription and your payment method is charged the subscription fee. Prune will send a notice to your email address before your trial converts, stating the date of the first charge and the amount.

Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method the applicable fee at the end of your trial and at each renewal, until you cancel.

Automatic renewal. The subscription automatically renews for a further annual term at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. Before each annual renewal, Prune will send a renewal notice to your email address between 30 and 45 days before the charge, stating the subscription, the renewal amount, the charge date, how to cancel, and a direct link to cancel.

Disclosures at checkout. Prune presents the price, the trial length, the renewal frequency, and the cancellation method on the checkout screen before you subscribe, and provides a confirmation you can keep that repeats the automatic renewal terms.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time directly in your account by the same method you used to subscribe, without a phone call, a chat, or added steps. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term, and you keep access until then.

Refunds. If you want your money back, you have 30 days from any charge, including a renewal charge, to get a full refund, for any reason or none. You can request it yourself in the app. You do not have to email us, explain yourself, or cancel first. This applies to every charge, not only your first.

Outside the refund window. If you cancel more than 30 days after a charge, Prune does not refund or prorate the rest of that term, and your access continues until the term ends.

Price changes. Prune may change prices or plans for future terms. Prune gives you advance notice of a price change before it takes effect, and the change applies only to a renewal after that notice. A price change never affects a term you have already paid for.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse or interfere with the Service; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service; use it for any unlawful purpose; or connect accounts you are not authorized to connect.

8. Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the Service and its content. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use under these Terms. Your data remains yours.

When you submit content to the Service, such as a rating or a description of a cancellation experience, you keep ownership of it. You grant Prune a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and use that content to operate and improve the Service, including the de-identified insights described in Section 9. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for de-identified information already used in insights and copies Prune must keep by law. If you send Prune feedback or suggestions, Prune may use them without any obligation to you.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to Prune's copyright agent at legal@prunemoney.com with the information the law requires, including identification of the work, the material at issue, your contact details, and the required statements. Prune removes or disables material that is the subject of a valid notice and follows the counter-notice process the law provides. Prune may end the account of a user who repeatedly infringes.

9. De-identified and aggregated insights

When Prune offers the de-identified insights feature, it may create and use de-identified and aggregated information to help other members make decisions inside the Service, subject to the safeguards and the opt-out described below. Two kinds of information feed these insights.

Transaction-derived aggregates. Prune may use amounts and prices drawn from members' transaction data to show typical prices for a subscription, for example a comparison of what other members pay for the same service.

Volunteered cancellation experiences and ratings. When you choose to share how a cancellation went, or rate whether a subscription is worth its price, Prune may include that input in insights shown to other members.

Before Prune uses your information this way, it removes direct identifiers, combines your information with information from other members, and applies a minimum group size so that no figure can be traced back to you. Prune does not sell this information, does not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not try to identify any individual from it. Prune does not expose your individual transactions, your merchant history, your account information, or your own cancellation experience to other members. You can opt out of these insights in your account settings, and the Privacy Policy explains the categories used and your choices.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Plaid, Stripe, and our hosting and email providers. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. Prune is not responsible for the acts or omissions of a third party it does not control.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that subscription detection, amounts, dates, or other insights are complete or error-free. These insights are estimates based on the data available to Prune, and you should check any charge with your provider before you act on it.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits a right you have under a consumer protection law that applies to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Prune against third-party claims that arise from your unlawful use of the Service, your misuse of the Service, or your material breach of these Terms. This section does not require you to indemnify Prune for a claim caused by Prune's own conduct.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. On termination we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy. The sections on disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, intellectual property, and governing law and dispute resolution survive termination.

15. Governing law, arbitration, and class-action waiver

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the arbitration agreement in this Section 15.

Talk to us first. Before starting arbitration, you or Prune must send the other a written notice describing the dispute and the resolution requested. Send yours to legal@prunemoney.com. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days after the notice is received, either of us may begin arbitration.

Arbitration. You and Prune agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service in binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. The AAA's rules are available at www.adr.org. Arbitration fees are set by the AAA's consumer fee schedule, and the arbitrator may award you the same individual relief a court could. The arbitrator decides whether a dispute belongs in arbitration. The arbitration will be held in the county where you live or by video, at your choice.

Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may go to court for an injunction to stop unauthorized use of the Service or infringement of intellectual property rights. If the law of your state gives you a right to seek public injunctive relief that a contract cannot waive, this Section 15 does not waive it, and a claim for that relief may be decided in court.

No class actions. You and Prune each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to bring or join a class, consolidated, or representative action. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim proceeds in court and the rest of this Section 15 still applies.

Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@prunemoney.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. If you opt out, or if a dispute is not subject to arbitration, the dispute will be resolved only in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and Prune consent to their jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these Terms

Prune may update these Terms. For a change that affects the automatic renewal terms, the fees, or your legal rights, Prune gives you advance notice and asks you to accept the updated Terms before the change applies to you. For other changes, Prune posts the updated version with a new date, and your continued use after the change takes effect means you accept it.

17. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Prune about the Service. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Prune may assign these Terms to an affiliate or to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign these Terms without Prune's consent. A delay in enforcing these Terms is not a waiver of them.
